About Rhododendron Tea
Nepal's national flower, brewed the way the hills do it
Rhododendron, called lali gurans in Nepali, is the national flower of Nepal. Every spring the hill forests turn red with it, and the petals have been dried and brewed as a drink there for a very long time. Our Rhododendron Tea is dried rhododendron petals blended with herbs and spices from the same hills.
It brews a rose-pink cup that tastes floral and slightly tart, with a light warmth from the spices behind it. It is caffeine-free. Use a teaspoon per cup of hot water and steep for four to five minutes.
This is a tea to drink on its own rather than to blend. It is unusual, and it is one of the few things in the range you are unlikely to have tasted before.

What is rhododendron tea?
A drink made from the dried petals of Rhododendron arboreum, the national flower of Nepal, traditionally brewed in the hill villages where the tree grows. Ours blends the petals with herbs and spices from the same area.
Does rhododendron tea have caffeine?
No. It is made from flower petals, herbs and spices, none of which contain caffeine.
What does it taste like?
Floral and a little tart, with a gentle warmth from the spices. It brews a pinkish cup. It is not sweet, so add a little honey if you prefer it that way.
How do I brew it?
One teaspoon per cup of hot water, steeped for four to five minutes. It comes in a 30g box, which makes roughly 15 cups.
